A quick update on 1520 Hollins Street — thanks to the neighbors who live nearby, a Stop Work notice was posted on the property, and a citation was issued to the homeowner, who was demolishing part of the interior without a permit.

Folks, this is a serious issue in Baltimore.  Doing any kind of major work, especially mechanical or structural — especially something like demolition, or digging out the basement — has to be done with a permit.  No permit means no inspection, and if you live next door to someone who’s doing this work — your home could be damaged, or worse, if the structural integrity of your home is compromised.

Please report non-permitted work through the city’s online 311 system.  You can check to see if the homeowner has received a permit by entering the address into Baltimore Housing’s permit search.
