1135-1137 Nanticoke Street

Property Address:  1135 and 1137 Nanticoke Street, Baltimore, MD 21230

Property Owner:  Nanticoke International 35, LLC and Nanticoke International 37, LLC, 824 Eastern Boulevard, Baltimore, MD 21221

Registered Agent for both corporations:  Russell A. Frost, same address.

City Council District and Contact: 11th District, William Cole.

Really these properties are a tale of two slumlords.  First owned by a well-known Baltimore slumlord, Ivey Price, The properties were purchased by two LLCs owned by the same person.  (See above for current owner information.)  While it looks as though Mr. Price is to blame for most of the poor condition of the properties, the current owner hasn’t done much to improve matters.  The front facades are all that remain of the two homes, and the vacant lots behind the facades are a mess.  High weeds and trash abound, and this could have easily been resolved with a simple fence.  The lots have turned into a dumping ground, as evidenced by the photos below.

Front view of 1135 and 1137 Nanticoke. I wonder if the resident at 1133 is happy living next to this eyesore.

It’s kind of hard to tell from the pics, but it looks like several load-bearing walls are missing. I’d think that would constitute a safety risk and allow immediate condemnation by the city.

You are correct, and the property was condemned by the city when it was under the ownership of Ivey Price. According to a resident of that block, the property has been in its current condition for three years now, and it’s hard to imagine why the current owner hasn’t done anything to make it safer. 1133 Nanticoke is a nice-looking house, and I wonder how they feel living next to such a disaster.
