And these are right up the street from the new development. That plus the location seems like they would be a GREAT properties for the Vacants to Values…but they aren’t listed there.

I have to wonder if the fix is in for Vacants to Values (i.e. only the wort properties are being sold through that program) or there is some serious structural problems with the properties or the city hopes they can eventually sell the properties for good money….

I have to question the wisdom of only adding properties that are located in areas with no amenities, and where the neighborhoods are empty. It will be interesting to watch what happens to the program after a year or so, especially if they end up in the hands of investors.

This is a real shame… These look like two very nice places that could easily be fixed up. I left Baltimore a long time ago but was back recently, and it saddens me that it still looks this way, though I’m happy to see websites like this making a difference. Speaking of slumlords, I was there when the George Dangerfield story hit, and have been wondering if he’s still in jail or if he’s out slumlording again. Or, hopefully, a changed man.

He appears to be walking free, having racked up another criminal charge and a traffic charge in May and June of 2010. With the number of foreclosure and lead paint cases against him…perhaps he’s been busy with that, instead of buying more properties to neglect.
