One of Baltimore’s Abandoned Mansions Hits the Auction Block June 23

Update:  According to the auctioneer’s website, this auction has been postponed, with no further information available. Will update on the new date/time if I hear anything.

The subject of this post, the Emerson Mansion, is hitting the auction block on June 23.  It would be wonderful to see this restored as a single-family home again, as it was intended. The photos on the auction website are heartbreaking — it’s been damaged, and is full of trash, but it’s definitely worth saving. (You’ll have to scroll down.)

The auction is June 23rd at the Radisson in Cross Keys. If you’re interesting in bidding, you have to pre-qualify by the 16th of June. If you don’t pre-qualify, you won’t be allowed to bid. Download the pre-qualification form (link opens a PDF) or contact the City’s receiver if you have any questions.
