It’s interesting to note that Mr. Zeh, a board member for a nonprofit that claims to help children, has a long history of lead paint lawsuits and housing violations filed against him.

When he wrote the following, was he talking about all children, or just the ones who don’t live in or near his blighted homes?

We love families especially children. Our goal is to bring up our own kids to grow and mature morally and educationally. We have that passion also for other children who need help educationally, socially, health-wise, and economically.

No permits have been filed on any of these properties, which can only indicate the owners had no intention of ever fixing them up.  The entire block on both sides is blighted — only five homes are being lived in, according to a neighbor.

I was especially sad to see a handful of kids playing in the street — most of these homes are structurally unsound, and could topple over at any time.

This property was foreclosed on by a Florida company, Fidelity Tax, LLC.  The LLC shared the same address with BankAtlantic in Ft. Lauderdale, until its address changed in 2011 — less than a year before BankAtlantic’s CEO and Chairman, Alan Levan, was charged with real estate fraud by the SEC.  Fidelity Tax LLC’s resident agent was Stan Linnick, BankAtlantic’s Senior Vice President and Enterprise Risk Manager.

Until 2006, BankAtlantic’s CEO was the registered agent for a now-defunct Florida corporation, Fidelity Tax Corporation, which became Fidelity Tax, LLC, without Alan Levan’s name in the company’s ownership documents.

The foreclosure was handled by none other than now-disbarred Baltimore attorney, Anthony DeLaurentis, who is also a partner in the LLC that owns 1120 N Milton Avenue, next door.

Tax-Sale Bid Rigging Conspirator Berman Sentenced

Steve Berman, husband of Hunt Valley attorney Heidi Kenny, and conspirator in an illegal tax-sale bid rigging scheme, was sentenced to two years probation for his part in the racket.  Two of his co-conspirators, Harvey Nusbaum and Jack Stollof, were sentenced earlier this year.

Three other Baltimore lawyers were named in the court proceedings, according to the Maryland Daily Record.  It is unclear if Anthony J. De Laurentis, or Richard Turer will face criminal or civil penalties.  John R. Reiff was given amnesty for his testimony against Stollof and Nusbaum.
